The German Society for Photography e. V. (DGPh) was founded in Cologne in 1951. It promotes the interests of photography and related image media in cultural contexts. The activities of the society are focused on the diverse fields of application of the photographic in art, science, education, journalism, economy and politics. Beyond acting in these individual areas, the DGPh makes their interfaces and interactions particularly visible.

The approximately 1000 appointed members of the non-profit organization come from all areas of photography and are renowned personalities of the German and international photo scene.

The statutes state: “German nationals who do not live in Germany and nationals of other countries who do not live in Germany and who have rendered outstanding services to photography and its promotion may be appointed by the Board as “Corresponding Members”.”

Congratulations!
