Michael Hoch

Michael Hoch is an Austrian born scientist, photographer, artist and founder of art@CMS. He studied applied physics as well as physics and sports education in Vienna. After his PhD on particle physics at CERN he worked for the ALICE and CMS experiments. During this time he used his unique position and access to photograph these scientific instruments from an artistic viewpoint and created out of these photos art installations and photo collages depicting various scientific topics. His artworks have been presented in multiple solo and group exhibitions in Europe and the US. Extending his own works he founded art@CMS, a project to generate an interdisciplinary dialogue between the science community, artists, art institutions as well as educators, students and the general public.
