The independent business committee Initiativen Wirtschaft für Kunst presented the Austrian art sponsoring award MAECENAS, now in its 30th year, jointly with Austrian broadcaster ORF to entrepreneurs and businesses. It recognizes their support for art projects which could not have been realized without this contribution. For the fifth time, a Special Award for Art & Culture sponsoring was presented to recognize the professional commitment and the successful cooperation of the Austrian art and culture community with business to provide culture to the public. This year 304 projects were submitted for the prize.

I LOVE AFRICA! set the theme for the Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo to present a wealth of fascinating images by the world’s best photographers.
For four months the huge open-air gallery turned the parks and squares of Baden into a city of images. The diverse festival programme complemented the images with talks by artists, workshops, theatre productions and guided walks through the exhibition. With the Festival La Gacilly-Baden Photo the town presents itself as a place of artistic avant-garde. The high quality of the exhibitions and the free entry allowed a wide range of people full access to photographic art and themes of relevance for society.
The jury praised the efforts to involve numerous business sponsors, which resulted in the successful and highly professional launch of a project of EU-political dimensions.
