Peter-Matthias Gaede

Peter-Matthias Gaede studied social sciences at the University of Göttingen and attended the Henri Nannen School of journalism. He worked at the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper for three years before joining GEO magazine in 1983 as a reporter. From 1994 to 2014 he served as Editor-in-Chief, not just of GEO magazine but also as Editor-in-Chief and Editor of GEO WISSEN, GEOlino, GEO Specials and other GEO spin-offs. Gaede has received, among others, the Theodor Wolff Prize and the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize. He is on the board of the Körber Foundation, Reporters without Borders and, since 2014, UNICEF Germany, as well as being a member of the Akademie für Publizistik.
