Manuel Legris

Manuel Legris has been Director of the Vienna State Ballet since 2010. Born in Paris, Legris was trained at the ballet school of the Paris Opera and started working there in 1980. Rudolf Nurejew, then Director of the Paris Opera Ballet appointed him danseur étoile in 1986. He performed the main roles of the classical and modern repertoires as well as leading roles in a number of world premières. He performed as a guest dancer all around the world, together with the most renowned ballet companies and with his own ensemble „Manuel Legris et ses Étoiles“.
