Andreas J. Hirsch

Andreas J. Hirsch is a fine-art photographer, author and curator. His writings include books on Pablo Picasso, Tina Modotti, Friedensreich Hundertwasser and HR Giger as well as Creating the Future – A Brief History of Ars Electronica 1979–2019 and the children’s book Florian Federleicht und die Suche nach der Zauberperle. When he was the curator of Kunst Haus Wien from 2009 to 2014, he curated inter alia exhibitions of the works of René Burri, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Linda McCartney. The series LOVE OVER HATE – The Art of Peace, the project RE-READING THE CITY – Views of the Posturban Condition which was shown within the frame of Ars Electronica and the exhibition Have You Seen This? – A Photographic Odyssey through Salzburg in the Traklhaus on the Salzburg Fortress are part of his photographic oeuvre. Hirsch lives in Vienna.
